Live promotion, new record out in the world...
A busy period here. Our first venture in promoting saw us put on an insanely good night at Hebden's Bridge Trades Club. Big Truck Headlined (their first Northern gig) and it was rumbustious in all the best ways. Big Truck are the new project from Laurie Vincent formerly of Slaves/Softplay and retain all the energy of that band while adding a new melodic sensibility. There is a freshness about them too, exemplified by playing a song they'd only finished writing that afternoon and doing it around a piano at the back of the hall... A success and Red Licorice will definitely do more of that. Herbie May was the support...
And speaking of Herbie... his new single Uphill is out now (from our shop or from all good retailers) and has already received its first radio play with the esteemed John Kennedy calling it simply 'excellent' on RADIO X. Hopefully we'll see some of you at the live launch TOMORROW NIGHT (June 5) at the Ginger Tiger in Todmorden. Herbie will be playing from about 9pm and then FLYING ON THE GROUND will be spinning some tunes. Or 'bangers' as da kidz call them.
